Background
Chronology of Media Art League (Tokyo, New York)
Established as a multi-cultural creative team in 1995 by Miro Ito and associates to promote visual communications through publications work, involving planning, editing, image creation as well as photography. Concomitant with Miro Ito's relocation to New York City in 1999, especially after the event of September 11, the emphasis shifted to more long-term international cultural art activities for mutual understanding and peace.
In 2005, Andreas Boettcher, who had previously represented Media Art League interests in Europe, became director of international communications. From 2011, Andreas Boettcher will be in charge of head activities in Canada, so is Miro Ito resumes her activities in USA after having been focusing on creating her own film/mixed-media cultural projects featuring, among others, prestigious renowned UNESCO World Heritage in Japan for global media world.
International Media & Art League (New York)
"International Media & Art League" is supposed to being launched as NY-based intercultural bridge-entity for the exclusive art and cultural projects to provide international public, produced or managed by Miro Ito, which is to bring Media Art League to the next level.
Projects will focus on activities to introduce, promote and contribute selected elements of Japan's world heritage to pulic libraries, museums and research laboratories both abroad and in Japan itself; with mutually supportive synergies with high caliber specialists as well as concurrently expanding the global social networks that form a solid basis for underpinning and facilitating said activities.
